from what I can recall it may have something to do with your computer needs japanese locale. depending on your os, just find and download applocale.
Use “ntleas”. It really helps ….. with it you can start games in jap locale…..and you can create links to start games in japan locale on desctop.
It really helped me to play lots of games based on japan version of rpgmaker. Cause even translated versions still need jap locale 😀
