Actually, the grimdark shit that was in the Encyclopedia was because the guys doing the translation intentionnally mistranslated it. There was even a big drama when KC realised that what people were doing with his work.

eroge doesn’t stand for uncensored, simply for 17/18+ and nothing more, MGQ in general never got uncensored afaik, so mosaics are still in place

played the game like 2 or 3 years ago. It’s really, surprisingly good. Even without the hentai part, the game got decent story. If the game feels a bit dull at first, just keep playing. Seriously give it a chance. This, and Yumina the Ethreal are some of the games I still remember until now because of the story.
Not saying that the story is original or something like that. It’s just, enjoyable.

I’ll be blunt with you here. When I played the first one, I did it for the eroge and I was curious. After I finished the first one, I didn’t give a damm about the eroge cg anymore and played it cause the story alone is one of the best I’ve ever seen. It has good cg for only a few characters cause majority of the monster girls are plain weird, ugly and will give you nightmares. However, please give it a shot first. The story, plot and character development are so good that it’s worth playing for that alone.
^ I second this, I like it when the story is actually really good in eroges and this is one of them. I finished it about less than 2 weeks ago and enjoyed it for the most part.
